Character of the Fire Horse
The fire horse loves contact with people. Especially when they come to admire her and give her a lot of attention. She is joyful, intelligent and is the first to greet the owner in the morning. Life is a big game and she doesn’t want to miss any of it. She can barely walk a few steps without looking back to see what her friends are doing. She loves shows in all facets. Brushing, braiding, as long as attention is paid to her body. She also loves attention in the ring. When she has done her job, she likes to be extensively rewarded. She cares more about beauty and grace than speed. A balanced fire horse is a horse with a lot of joy.
With a strong intuition she fully anticipates the rider. Because of her sensitivity, she needs a like-minded soul as a rider.
This hypersensitivity can cause the fire horse to act frightened and anxious. Stress and over-asking can lead to hyperactive behavior and difficulty concentrating. These horses will never be able to be put in a stable alone, because they always need friends and girlfriends and a lot of attention. They are emotionally hypersensitive and will therefore react extremely if the rider is not feeling well. They are not the easiest horses to achieve, but if you can, you will not be able to find a better dressage horse as the horse loves applause and finds himself very beautiful and wonderful.
The fire horse is sensitive to dehydration. It is therefore important that the horse gets enough fresh water and is not overloaded. Fire horses are also very sensitive to pain.
Appropriate use: dressage and show
Common in the following breeds: Warmblood, Arabians, Trakhener
Explanation of the description of the character type
In this description the character of an exemplary fire horse is outlined. There are five main character types, of which this is one. The goal is that recognizable characteristics become visible. Don’t assume that your horse is by definition one particular type and that everything else is no longer possible. Every horse has characteristics of all types. There are also continuous changes that affect the character of the horse. Every horse has a basic character type that is constantly under the influence of external things. For example, training can positively affect the type and living conditions of a bad one. These influences can even temporarily influence the basic character in such a way that it is no longer recognizable. That is why it is important that the animal is given the space and freedom to be itself, so that the basic character eventually emerges again. A horse is better off if it is allowed to be itself, it will certainly benefit its health.
